The title 'Shin Gojira' was chosen for the film due to the variety of meanings the syllable "shin" ("new", "true", and "god").
A whole new series
Despite being released between Legendary Pictures' 'Godzilla' (2014) and its sequel 'Godzilla: King of Monsters' (2019), this film is not connected to that series of the Japanese monster.
The monster's design
Godzilla's design in this film is mostly based on his design from the original film from 1954.
