Plot
'Simone Veil, a Woman of the Century' tells the extraordinary story of Simone Veil, born in 1927 and died in 2017, who was an icon of French politics and society at the time and an international reference. Director Olivier Dahan, widely recognized for his work on the film 'Life in Pink', based on the life of Edith Piaf, is behind the cameras and screenplay in 'Simone Veil, a Woman of the Century', this new biopic that poignantly portrays the life of a woman who altogether changed the world and marked a before and after in international politics. Simone Veil is an emblematic figure: a Holocaust survivor, she was France's Minister of Health for five years, then became the first woman to preside over the European Parliament in Strasbourg and later a member of France's Constitutional Council.
The character of Simone Veil as an adult and young woman is portrayed by actresses Elsa Zylberstein and Rebecca Marder. They are accompanied on screen by the rest of the cast, which includes Élodie Bouchez, Judith Chemla, Olivier Gourmet, Mathieu Spinosi, Philippe Lellouche, Bastien Bouillon, Lubna Azabal, Antoine Chappey, Jennifer Decker, Antoine Gouy, Sylvie Testud, François Rollin, Camille Rutherford, Hannah Levim Esther Valding, and Lucie Rouxel.
