Plot
'Stardust' begins in the sleepy little village of Muro, in the English countryside, whose name comes from the stone wall that has kept the villagers safe from the threat posed by the parallel and supernatural universe on the other side. But young Tristran Thorne makes a wild promise to the prettiest girl in the village in hopes of winning her heart: he will bring her a fallen star from the sky. To keep his promise, Tristran must cross over and enter the mysterious realm inhabited by endless magic and legends of which he will soon become a part.
In that fantastic world known as Stormhold, Tristran discovers that the star is not what he expected, but a young woman with a strong character injured in her cosmic fall. Moreover, she is in grave danger, stalked by terrible forces, such as the King's sons, young men who need her to seize the throne, and a powerful and cruel witch who wishes to use the star to achieve eternal youth and beauty.
Tristran decides to protect the star and take her to his beloved on the other side of the wall. On his journey, he will meet a pirate captain and a sinister merchant, among other surprising characters. If he manages to survive thanks to his intelligence and the strength of his new love, he will discover the secret of his true identity and that his destiny goes far beyond what he had dreamed.
The movie 'Stardust' is based on the novel of the same name by Neil Gaiman and is co-written and directed by Matthew Vaughn.
