That Was Life

'La vida era eso' is about the precious and peculiar friendship between two Spaniards, Maria and Veronica, in a hospital room in Belgium. The former has lived there for decades after emigrating when she was young and the latter has just arrived in the city in search of the opportunities she never found in Spain.

This union brings Mary back to southern Spain with an unusual mission. What initially begins as a journey to get closer to Veronica?s roots, ends up becoming a great opportunity to question several of the principles that have governed her life. According to its director, David Martín de los Santos ('Mañana no es otro día', 'En el hoyo', 'Llévame a otro sitio' y '23 de mayo'), "the first idea of this film arrived while accompanying my mother when she was leaving this world.

A very wise friend who also passed away, said that that script that was beginning to take shape was an attempt to maintain to my living mother. 'La vida era eso' was born from the cross between these two women of different generations in a time of huge and accelerated social changes". The cast of the film is made up of Anna Castillo (Veronica), Petra Martínez (Maria), Florin Piersic Jr. (Luca) Ramón Barea (José), among others.
