'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew' is the first film in the long-awaited reboot of the fantasy saga created by C. S. Lewis.

Under the direction of Greta Gerwig, this time, instead of revisiting the plots already known from the old Disney productions, the film will adapt The Magician's Nephew, the sixth novel published in the series but the first in chronological order. In this way, the movie will serve as a prequel that reveals the events leading up to 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', offering the keys to how the world of Narnia was born.

In the books, the story follows Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer, two neighbors who form a deep friendship during a summer. Their lives change when they meet the mysterious Uncle Andrew (Daniel Craig), and through some magical rings they discover how to travel to the dazzling, yet dangerous, realm of Narnia.

There, they will face mythical creatures, dark forces, and the origin of the powerful White Witch, played by Emma Mackey. So far, the cast of this production is completed by Meryl Streep as the voice of Aslan, and Carey Mulligan in a role that has not yet been revealed.

With a limited release in IMAX theaters before its arrival on Netflix, 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew' promises to rediscover Narnia through the visual and narrative signature of the director of 'Lady Bird' and 'Little Women'.
