The Innocent

When Abel discovers that his mother, who is going to turn sixty years soon, is going to marry a man that is in prision, he can not belive it and suffers a panic attack. Thinking that his mother has lost her mind, and counting with the support of his best and all life friend, Clémence he will try to convince her that she is making the biggest mistake of her life, and ruin the wedding as he can. But everything will change its way wen Abel meets Michel, the prisioner and his future stepfather, who will offer him a new point of view to see the life, opening de door to imagine new perspectives.

After directing 'The Crusade' in 2021, the french filmmaker, Louis Garrel returns to the screen with this police comedy 'The Innocent', where we will see various themes juxtaposed, moving in between a sentimental comedy and crime. Directed, protagonized and wrote by him, with the collaboration of Tanguy Viel and Naïla Guiguet, shares cast with frech stars as Roschdy Zem ('The Cold Light of Day'), Noémie Merlant ('Portrait de la jeune fille en feu') and Anouk Gringberg ('Tromperie') among others.

The comedy of Louis Garrel has been nominated even eleven times at the Cesar Awards, including the nomination to the best film and other to the best director.
