Plot

The well-known Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky directed and co-wrote with Alessandr Misharin this cult film, considered one of the masterpieces of cinema of the Soviet Union. The story focuses on Alekséi, a man who decides to be honest with his wife before to die and expose the reasons why he believes have distanced themselves and what their current situation. Throughout the film we see the memories and feelings of the director himself, through a disjointed scheme in which we see the relationship his mother, his view of life. In turn, the film will show small fragments of the Spanish Civil War, the Second World War and the confrontation between China and the USSR for Damanski Island. Tarkovsky sought with this film make a personal portrait of his past, but also the history of his country and the world. Considered one of the most prized in the history of cinema experimental films.
