The Redemption

Lucas and Antonia are facing economic difficulties, but that does not stop them from seeing life with the affection, hope, and humor with which they both live in a humble apartment in the city center. However, when an investment fund buys their building and they are forced to leave their home, everything starts to go wrong. Lucas tries by all means to prevent them from taking away his home. He will seek money tirelessly, even if it leads him to cross dangerous boundaries and venture down a path from which it is difficult to return.

'The Redemption' (2025), directed and written by Daniel Guzmán, marks the return of the actor and director to the screen three years after 'Canallas'. Nominated for the Biznaga de Oro at the Málaga Film Festival, the film features a cast led by Guzmán himself, along with actors such as Rosario García, Itziar Ituño, Susana Abaitua, Luis Tosar, Mona Martínez, Francesc Garrido, and Fernando Valdivieso. Pedro Hernández Santos joins Daniel Guzmán in production, and Álvaro Begines and Vlad Radulescu come on board as co-producers alongside Almudena Illoro, the production manager, and Andrea Moya, María Jesús Román, and Carmen Rizac, the executive producers. Ibon Antuñano Totorika is director of photography, and Antón Laguna is the art director.
