The Saint of the Impossible

Based on the novel by Arnos Grunberg, 'The Saint of the Impossible' follows the story of Raffaella Andino, a Latina working woman with two teenage twin sons, whose names are Paul and Tito. The brothers are illegal Peruvian immigrants who work as delivery boys and who have never had sex, so they often pray to the patron saint of impossible cases, in hopes of losing their virginity. Soon they meet Kristin, a young Croatian girl with whom the two of them will live a love story. However, as soon as the enigmatic girl enters the equation, the siblings will find themselves in all sorts of trouble, facing the possibility of being deported. Raffaella will have to follow the trail of a murder, a police raid and the mysterious girl's photograph until she can piece together all the clues to discover what their children's love life was like and what has truly happened to them.

With Swiss-British director Marc Raymond Wilkins behind the cameras, the film has New Zealander Lani-rain Feltham as screenwriter of a movie that ultimately turns out to be a clear deconstruction of the American dream. The cast includes Adriano Duran and Marcelo Durand as brothers Pablo and Tito, Oscar nominee Magaly Solier as Raffaëlla, Tara Thaller as Kristin, and Simon Käser as Raffaella's boyfriend.
