Plot
'The Sitting Duck', inspired by true events, tells the story of Maureen Kearney (Isabelle Huppert), the union director of a French nuclear multinational who denounces secret agreements that mean the loss of jobs for more than 50,000 workers. An exciting thriller about a woman who makes a complaint and who nobody listens to. A woman, who after suffering violent pressure that turns into threatening warnings, suffers a violent attack in her own home in which she goes from being a victim to being a suspect.
Isabelle Huppert, who plays Kearney in the film, has spoken about her character in 'The Sitting Duck': "Maureen is fighting for something very simple: saving jobs. She could give up, but inside her there is a fierce will to fight. It's her Erin Brockovich side!" The actress has also briefly described the project: "I think this film has something Chabrolian about it, a certain dryness, but in a good way, nothing sentimental, a kind of irony with a Moorish touch".
'The Sitting Duck't' is directed by Jean-Paul Salomé, a French filmmaker who also works on the film's script. He did not write alone the movie, did it alongside the french screenwriter Fadette Drouard, nominated for the César Award in the category of Best Adaptation.
