The Talent

Ester Expósito stars in 'El talento', the new film by young director Polo Menárguez, produced by The MediaPro Studio, Reposado Producciones, Movistar Plus+, RTVE, and 3Cat. In this film, the young actress, named Elsa, attends a high-society party with her cello in tow, an instrument with which she is particularly skilled and has great talent for playing. The party is for her best friend's birthday, and surrounded by glamour and promises of success, her evening takes a 180-degree turn when her mother delivers news that will turn her party and life upside down. Her mother places her in the middle of a crossroads in an attempt to save the entire life project she has and her family. She has the option to sacrifice herself to secure her future and that of her closest circle, but she will have to renounce her own dignity. A story that navigates between music, privilege, and morality, where young Elsa must decide who she is and how far she can go to save herself.

Based on one of the most famous short novels by Arthur Schnitzler; Fernando León de Aranoa and Polo Menárguez write this story about power, patriarchy, and where ethics and morality play a fundamental role. A drama filled with music in which the music (Carla F. Benedicto) and cinematography (Jose Martín Rosete) are particularly well-crafted.
