The Threesome

'The Threesome' is a U.S. romantic comedy directed by Chad Hartigan with a screenplay by Ethan Ogilby. The film premieres at the South by Southwest Festival in March 2025, and later on September 5, 2025, in American theaters.

Connor is a thirty-something sound engineer who has been in love with Olivia, his coworker, a woman who is afraid of commitment and expressing her own feelings. One day, encouraged by a friend and with Olivia's blessing, they invite Jenny, a young woman who has just been stood up on a date, to go out with them for a night. What starts with drinks and dancing ends in a threesome.

Jenny disappears from their lives the next day, and Connor and Olivia begin to maintain a lifelong relationship: falling in love, moving in together, and a pregnancy. The surprise comes when, shortly after, Jenny reappears in their lives to inform them that she is also pregnant with Connor's child, from that night of the threesome. From there, the three must start to deal with the consequences of that unexpected night...

'The Threesome' had been in preparation for several years, and initially Logan Lerman and Phoebe Dynevor were set to be its stars. After several changes and strikes in between, the film is shot in early 2024 in Arkansas with Jonah Hauer-King, Zoey Deutch, and Ruby Cruz as the leads. The reviews it receives are mostly positive.
