'Urchin' offers a realistic and human version of life. It touches the sensitive fiber and shows the devastation of the human being at its lowest point and the opportunities that are often hidden by despair.

Mike is a young man living on the streets of London consumed by addiction. He lives in a constant loop of self-destruction and abandonment in which he feels trapped and tries to escape. After years of begging and stealing, he ends up being arrested and sent to prison.

Upon his release, he makes a promise to himself; it is time to break free from that exhausting cycle and rebuild his life. He finds a bed in a hostel and a job as a cook. His routine consists of self-help tapes and his attempts to control his impulses and distance himself from old friends. He wants to distance himself from his past demons.

Mike lives in a gray world. The film offers an intimate and raw account of what life can be for some and the real experience that others try to hide. Mike is a character who experiences contradictory emotions: from tenderness to rage, from sweetness to hurt. Despite this, he fights to improve the version of himself. Although he has no guarantees of achieving his goal, he continues to move forward in search of the light he longs for.
