Yomeddine

'Yomeddine' is about Beshay, a man who suffers leprosy and has never left the leprous-people community in which he was abandoned when being a child. After his wife died, he decides to pick up his things and go reach his roots all around Egypt. In his trip, he knows Obama, an orphan boy that decides to go with him in his jouney around the country. Even though 'Yomeddine' may seem like a sad film, in fact it is told in a light way, thanks to the presence of Obama, with his jokes and laughs. The main actor is a non-profesional that actually suffers from this illness. The film was presented world-wide in the Official Selection of Cannes Film Festival and represents the first feature film by writer and director A. B. Shawky.
