Mixing those bright yellow plastic construction toys with the big screen has to be one of the more impressive ideas since the turn of the century. Everyone who has spent countless hours building Lego masterpieces with their own hands can now see a new pathway for the Danish toy brand, in the form of films.

With the release of 'The Lego Movie' in 2014, and more recently 'The Lego Batman Movie', the potential growth of Lego films is incredible. Not only does it appeal to the younger viewers who can see their favourite characters in Lego form in action, it also appeals to the older generation who will no doubt enjoy the humour and gags that come with the characters and plots.

Whilst on the subject, we can't help but think of the endless possibilities of Lego films that could arrive to the big screen. So we have come up with six films everyone would love to see in Lego form. Of course the list could go on forever, so if you have any thoughts let us know which films you would like to see made into a Lego film by writing in the comment section below.

1 'Star Wars'

As we all know, there already exists a collection of Lego video games based on the 'Star Wars' saga, but what many of us would love to see is our favourite Jedi's made into Lego and put on the big screen. The wide range of storylines and characters from George Lucas' saga is endless and therefore presents the opportunity to create a new Lego phenomenon.

2 'Green Lantern'

The DC superhero stars have the potential to be reconstructed into Lego form with the wide range of creatures, heroes and villains which both kids and adults could enjoy. The DC Comics characters have in fact been made into a movie which starred Ryan Reynolds, however it generally received negative reviews. One thing we do know is that Lego always make things better so bring that into the picture and this could have the potential to be a success.

3 'Indiana Jones'

The fast paced action and sense of vertigo were two key aspects of the 'The LEGO Movie' which made it successful. If those two key aspects help to make the movie work, then add in the character of Indiana Jones and you have a recipe for success. As we already know, Mr Jones has been on the Lego scene before in the form of a video game and it worked well. So what harm would it do to turn our favourite archaeologist into a Lego film? We are sure George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford will agree.

4 Nintendo

When Vertigo Entertainment president Roy Lee was asked what his dream movie project would be, he replied with "Mine would be Nintendo. I think Zelda, Mario, and the whole universe of characters would be perfect for a Lego movie. I don't have the rights to it, but I would love to. That would be my Holy Grail." Well, what are we waiting for? Lets get those contracts together and sign on the dotted line and you never know we may be seeing the Nintendo characters enter into the Lego universe soon.

5 James Bond

Lego. James Bond. Put the two together. Wow. What a prospect that would be. Imagine watching the famous Bond intro where he turns to the camera and points the gun. It's good even without Lego, but with Lego pieces it could be epic. With twenty-four James Bond films to date, the content to work with to bring the famous British spy into the Lego universe has serious potential. Bond himself, Bond girls, Bond villains, Bond cars all made into Lego would surely have people racing to watch it on the big screen.

6'The Hunger Games'

The movies, which were based on the best selling novels, were a huge success and are still very popular. With action packed plots, a wide range of characters and a whole load of scary beasts and animals, 'The Hunger Games' has ticked all the boxes. The only thing left to do now is to transform all of this into those lovely little yellow Lego bricks and we are surely onto a winner.
