After causing some concern with the first promotional images of the 'Aladdin' remake, in which we see Will Smith as the Genie in perfect human form, the latest promo photo has now appeared on social media. Although it is unclear as to whether it is official propaganda, it was published by a journalist from The Disinsider, which specialises in Disney news.
In the photo we can see the stars of the film. From right to left is: Jafar (Marwan Kenzari), the Genie (Will Smith), Aladdin (Mena Massoud), Jasmine (Naomi Scott), and the new character, Jasmine's friends Dalia, (Nasim Pedrad). Smith's Genie still appears in human form and we still have no picture of the "blue" face he promised would be appearing in the film. But fans on Twitter have been highlighting is the simplistic, pantomime-style of the image...

And sometimes GIFs speak louder than words...
'Aladdin' is not the only remake which Disney is releasing this year. In March Tim Burton's adaptation of 'Dumbo' will be released, in May we have this film, directed by Guy Ritchie, and then in July comes Jon Favreau's 'The Lion King'. For this version of 'Aladdin' for now we only have these controversial images and a trailer which shows little more than sand. A whole new world, or a catastrophic failure? We will know on 24th May.
