It is no exaggeration to say that the release date of the last season of 'Game of Thrones' is one of the most anticipated dates in the whole of 2019. The hype for this season is not only due to the fact that these final six episodes will draw to a close one of the most successful and beloved series in the past ten years, but also because everyone is terrified to discover which of the characters await a gruesome ending at the hands of their writer, George R. R. Martin.

Game of Thrones

To add to the drama, in his recent appearance on 'The Late Late Show' Liam Cunningham, who plays the part of Davos Seaworth in the HBO series, made a chilling remark to remind us all that nobody is safe. On being congratulated for having lasted so long in the series, Cunningham replied with, "So far, so far. That doesn't mean anything. We're all going to die [eventually]. Don't forget "Valar Morghutis", which is one of the phrases in the show which means "all men must die"."

Could this mean we must expect a grizzly end... for everyone? Cunningham immediately clarified, "that doesn't mean anything, I haven't given anything away", but his ominous comment doesn't exactly suggest sunshine and rainbows.

There are certainly many reason that Davos Seaworth might have a warrant out for his death: his closeness to Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), the characters who will be fighting for the throne, does not come without making enemies. Although, of course, Cunningham's words have not actually confirmed anything, they have at least served to remind us all of one thing: in 'Game of Thrones' you never know who is safe. And the only thing that remains certain in that the series finale will hold some shockers.

The Game of Spite

The creators of 'Game of Thrones', David Benioff and D. B. Weiss decided to keep everything to do with the final season as secretive as possible, so much so that they even caused some issues with actors on set due to a lack of information.

While Sophie Turner confessed to having told the ending to a few of her friends, and Liam Cunningham may or may not have hinted towards the death of the entire cast, Kit Harington spoke about the how he cried upon reading of the last episode.

Will everyone get what's coming to the in the end? Try as we might to find some sort of hidden answer in the little information we have, we will have to continue guessing in the dark until the release of the final season on 14th April this year.
