It is official: the eighth and final season of 'Game of Thrones' will be coming to screens in April 2019, thus bringing the HBO drama to an end. The first season in the series was released in 2011, and since then many of the cast members have risen to fame worldwide. To commemorate the success that she has acquired as a result of the show, Emilia Clarke, who stars in the role of Daenerys Targaryen, decided to get a tattoo of her character's three dragons on her wrist.

The actress shared a photo of her new tattoo on her instagram account with a caption commemorating her character as the "Mother of Dragons". However, Clarke did not add any commentary about the added symbolism of these three dragons. In a later interview with Elle France she then admitted the extra motive she had behind her tattoo.

Clarke no only wanted to wear this memory on her wrist, but also has already joked about getting a tattoo of her fellow cast mates, Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage and Conleth Hill. It is clear that the actress is just as emotionally attached to the show, created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, as all of her followers. It seems it will be hard for all of us to say goodbye.

Last Episodes with Dragons?

With the release of the last six episodes of 'Game of Thrones', sadly also comes the last chance to enjoy the most impressive dragons in television history. After the final eighth season, we will see a prequel, starring Naomi Watts, which is said to be very different to the world to which we are accustomed.

"There's no King's Landing. There's no Iron Throne. There are no Targaryens and Valyria has hardly begun to rise yet with its dragons and the great empire that it built," George R.R. Martin, the mastermind author behind the television phenomenon, has declared.

We now have only to wait to see the final showdown of 'Game of Thrones' and enjoy the long awaited battle between the living and the White Walkers in April 2019.
