'Honey Boy', Israeli director, Alma Har'el's latest project featuring Shia LaBeouf has begun filming. A photo of the actor surfaced online late May this year which saw LaBeouf in character as his own father in a film that aims to tell the life story of the talent. Oscar nominee Lucas Hedges ('Manchester by the sea') will be playing the role of Shia LaBeouf.

 Shia Labeouf in character

In an image of LaBeouf on set, the actor's completely unrecognisable, sporting a balding combover in character as his father. 'Honey Boy' is being produced by Automatik and LaBeouf has had a hand in writing the screenplay for the film.

Not much else is known about the film, and it doesn't even have a release date yet. The official synopsis reads, "a child actor works to mend the relationship with his hard-drinking, law-breaking father". Taking this into account then, it appears the film aims to stay as true as possible to LaBeouf's real life.

Other known faces

LaBeouf, who's worked on recent films like 'Borg vs McEnroe' and 'American Honey' is set to reunite with 'A Quiet Place' actor, Noah Jupe once more in 'Honey Boy'. Maika Monroe, Natasha Lyonne, Martin Starr and Clifton Collins Jr all also have parts in the production.
