About the American Pie saga
'American Pie' (1999), directed by brothers Paul and Chris Weitz and written by Adam Herz, became the defining teen comedy of its generation: four high school friends make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation. Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott as the unforgettable Stifler and Eugene Levy as Jim's dad led the cast.
The success of 'American Pie' brought 'American Pie 2' (2001), the biggest hit of the series, and 'American Wedding' (2003), which married off Jim and Michelle. The franchise carried on straight to DVD with several spin-offs featuring new characters under the 'American Pie Presents' banner, with Eugene Levy as the only link.
In 2012, 'American Reunion' brought the original cast back together thirteen years after the first film, for their class reunion. Eugene Levy is the only actor to appear in every film of the franchise.
