Biography

Akira Toriyama is a Japanese manga and anime artist and writer, who's known for his work in the shonnen genre, a subgenre that has action, adventure and fantasy elements. Toriyama started his career on 1978, when he created 'Wonder Island'. But his greatest hit came in 1984, when Toriyama came up with 'Dragon Ball', one of the greatest mangas (adapted into an anime) in history. It had a sequel, 'Dragon Ball Z', even more popular. In 2015, Toriyama continued with the saga in 'Dragon Ball Super', after leaving the franchise, that had its own sequel outside of the main canon, called 'Dragon Ball GT'.
