Biography
Behrooz Karamizade is a German/Iranian filmmaker known for 'Empty Nets'. In 2005 he began his academic studies at Kunsthochschule Kassel in the field of Visual Communication with a specialization in Film and Television. With his films he participated in more than 200 film festivals and won several awards, including the Rotterdam International Film Festival, the Kurzfilmtagen Oberhausen and the Montreal World Film Festival. His short film 'Bahar Im Wunderland' participated in more than 150 film festivals and won 20 awards, including the 2014 German Human Rights Film Award. In addition to his artwork and festival attendance, he has directed several films and a documentary. television for ARD/ZDF - KIKA. He works as a freelance writer/director/producer/editor. Since 2015 he also works as a professor at the Kassel Art Academy / Kassel University in the Department of Film and Television.
