Biography
Born in Barcelona on June 16, 1978, Daniel Brühl is one of the most recognized German actors on the European scene. His first major role in German cinema was in 2001 with 'Nichts bereuen', a year later he starred in 'Und führe uns nicht in Versuchung', with which he gained much popularity in Germany. The international recognition was with "Good Bye, Lenin!", which he won the prize for best actor at the German Film Academy and which also rose to the best actor award at the European Film Awards. He would later be recognized for roles in 'The Edukators', 'Ladies in Lavender', 'Cargo' and 'Joyeux Noël'. His first Hollywood role was in 'The Bourne Ultimatum' along with Matt Damon, later to come 'Inglorious Basterds' by Quentin Tarantino. Other relevant roles in English language films have been 'The Fifth Estate', 'Rush', 'Woman in Gold', 'A Most Wanted Man', 'Captain America: Civil War' and 'The Zookepper's Wife'. In addition, Brühl has continued to play relevant roles within the German cinema as 'Colonia' or 'Ich und Kaminski'.
