Isabel Coixet was born the 9th of April in 1960 in Sant Adria de Besos in Barcelona, Catalonia in Spain. She is one of the most prolific film directos of contemporary Spain, having directed 12 feature-length films since she began her film career in 1988, in addition to documentary films, shorts and commercials. Her films follow the traditional national cinema of Spain but she tries to give them new and differente perspectives with recurring themes such as emotions, feelings and existential conflict. She directs, writes, products and acts.
