Deb (Sienna Miller) lives a normal life in a small town. She has a teenage daughter, Bridget, and her grandson Jess, a job in a local small store and she fights once in a while with her mother. But her life breaks in just one day. After staying babysitting her grandson so her daughter can go on a date, she discovers the next morning that Bridget never came home. The longer the time goes by without news of her, the more clear it is that her daughter has gone missing. Years later, when Deb has just graduated from community college, gotten married and has been raising for years her now teenage grandson, Deb discovers for the first time information about her daughter.
