Trailer for 'Bad Counselors', a 2026 American comedy directed by Chris Dowling, starring Matt Cornett and Brec Bassinger.
The trailer for 'Bad Counselors' introduces the new American comedy from Chris Dowling, a filmmaker with experience in family-friendly and faith-based productions. The film opts for situational humour that combines the chaos of university life with the atmosphere of a religiously oriented summer camp, generating a clash of worlds that underpins the entire comic premise.
The trailer opens with a group of young university fraternity members facing charges of public intoxication, destruction of school property, and disturbing the peace. To prevent the incidents from ruining their academic records, they agree to carry out community service at the Christian camp Camp Burning Bush. The trailer showcases the protagonists' clumsiness as they attempt to adapt to an environment they know absolutely nothing about: they memorise biblical phrases with little conviction, misinterpret questions about faith, and struggle to manage a group of campers who are far from easy to handle.
Among the moments highlighted in the trailer are the young men's failed attempts to feign religious devotion and the situations that arise from their interactions with the camp's children. The trailer also hints at a more personal subplot, as one of the characters begins to question his own identity.
The cast is led by Matt Cornett, joined by Brec Bassinger and McKaley Miller in the principal female roles. Missi Pyle and Chris Klein round out the cast in supporting parts.
