The Best Man' Trailer (2023)

Shane Dax Taylor directs 'The Best Man', an American action thriller that sets its plot within an ostensibly festive environment to unleash a spiral of violence and survival. The film combines the conventions of hostage cinema with the tension of enclosed spaces, a sub-genre that has produced landmark titles within action cinema.

The trailer opens with the image of a warm welcome at an exclusive resort, where a group of guests arrives to celebrate a wedding. The promise of an intimate weekend, free from mobile coverage and internet connection, quickly becomes a trap. Criminals seize control of the venue and hold the guests hostage, demanding that the host place a price on the lives of his own daughters.

The cast is led by Luke Wilson and Dolph Lundgren, joined by Brendan Fehr, Nicky Whelan, and Scout Taylor-Compton. Lundgren's presence, a stalwart of action cinema since the eighties, lends a recognisable weight to the ensemble.
