Plot
Directed by Jacques Toulemonde Vidal, screenwriter of acclaimed 'Embrace of the Serpent' and 'Birds of Passage', 'Anna' tells the life of the main role who gives name to the film, played by Juana Acosta. She's a Colombian woman who lives in Paris, who is divorced and who lives with her ten-year-old son, Nathan (Kolia Abiteboul). Anna fights every day against her own ghost past, living in perpetual state of psychological fragility. Her ex-husband considers her too weak to take care of their son, which motivates him to try to keep his custody. Wanting to reunite with her roots, she decides to ignore the opinion of her ex-husband, Philippe (Augustin Legrand) a French man, and she decides to take Nathan to Colombia, along with her new boyfriend, Bruno (Bruno Clairefond), to live a new life, something with what she always dreamed. Although Colombia is not an easy country, Anna feels that everything is possible. The film was nominated for a Goya Award for Latin America Best Film, despite not having had a commercial premiere in Spaniards theaters. Nominated for Ariel Awards for Best Latin American film and nominated for the Platino Awards for best actress in a leading role award for Juana Acosta. Winner of three Macondo awards (best actress, best screenplay and best cinematography).
