As bestas

'The beasts' is a film directed by Oscar nominee and three-time Goya winner Rodrigo Sorogoyen ('El Reino', 'Que Dios nos perdone'), and written by himself and Isabel Peña ('Estocolmo'). The title follows the life of a middle-aged French couple who move to a village in Galicia in search of closeness and peace with nature. Antoine and Olga are delighted with their new home, where they lead a quiet life.

However, their love for the village and their enthusiasm for their surroundings clashes head-on with the abusive and antagonistic oppression of a local family who have lived there all their lives, the Anta brothers. Tension builds to the point of open hostility and shocking violence. The rivalry between the two families will become unsustainable, reaching a point of no return.

Premiere in the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival 2022. The film's cast includes Marina Foïs ('Papá o mamá 2'), Denis Ménochet ('Custodia compartida'), Luis Zahera ('Celda 211') and Diego Anido ('Malencolía') and Machi Salgado ('El ministerio del tiempo').

'The beasts' will be released in all Spanish movie theaters on November 11, 2022. The distribution in Spain will be in charge of A Contracorriente Films and by Latino Films in the rest of the world.
