Caminando con el diablo

'Walking with the Devil' is the film debut of Rubén Pérez-Barrena, an Aragonese filmmaker who has directed short films such as 'Rewind' and 'Walkie Talkie'. In this film, Pérez-Barrena is set in 1980s Spain with the couple Miguel and Alicia, who face the disappearance of their son Gabriel. Miguel is consumed by guilt over the memory of the night he lost Gabriel, overwhelmed by alcohol. Alicia must confront the grief of losing her son, but also her husband, who has been completely absent since the terrible event. In the midst of the unease and sadness that envelop the main couple, someone unexpected appears in their path. Philippe, a ten-year-old boy traveling in a caravan with his parents, encounters Miguel and Alicia. This leads to a descent into hell, a journey to the darkest side of humanity, a darkness even greater than the initial one.

Pérez-Barrena directs this feature film, with a script co-written with Jesús Miguel Quintana. In the cast, we find Tamar Novas as Miguel, Marina Salas as Alicia, and Alban Petit as Philippe. They are joined by other actors such as Iván Marcos, Jorge Asín, Annick Weerts, Guillermo Navajo, Vicente Vergara, Mateo Medina, Chavi Bruna, Enrique Cazorla, and Andrea Guardiola.

La Canica Films distributes this film, distributed by Filmax. 'Caminando con el diablo' hits theaters on March 6, 2026.
