Plot

Eleventh feature film by French filmmaker Catherine Corsini. 'The Divide' was exhibited as part of the Official Selection at the 74th Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Queer Palm, awarded by the jury leaded by actor and director Nicolas Maury, for its representation of the LGBT community. César Award for Best Supporting Actress for Aïssatou Diallo Sagna, who is also a health assistant by profession.

Raf (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) and Julie (Marina Foïs) are a couple who are about to break up their relationship. The two women are in the Emergency department hospital on a night when everything turns into chaos, coinciding with a demonstration by the Yellow Vests in the streets of Paris, where riots have arisen that, in addition, are collapsing the Emergency services of different Public hospitals.

In the Emergency department, Raf and Julie meet Yann (Pio Marmaï), a wounded and visibly angry protester who will shatter their certainties and prejudices. Outside the hospital, the tension continues to grow, forcing the health center to close its doors to ensure the proper functioning of the facilities and that patients are treated with a minimum of security, which will cause the night for Raf and Julie is quite an experience.
