Plot

Third adaptation of the novel 'Father of the Bride', written by Edward Streeter in 1949, which already had adaptations in 1950, directed by Vincente Minnelli and starring Spencer Tracy, Joan Bennett, Elizabeth Taylor and Don Taylor, and in 1991, directed by Charles Syer and starring Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kimberly Williams and George Newbern, the most famous version and the one on which this remake is based, whose protagonists are of Latin American origin.

Billy and Ingrid Herrera (Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan) are an exiled Cuban couple who have been living in Miami, United States, for 30 years. Married for a long time, they are experiencing a terrible marital crisis, to the point that they have decided to divorce. However, their breakup plans go down the drain when their eldest daughter, Sofia (Adria Arjona), arrives from a trip to Mexico with unexpected news: she is going to get married.

Determined not to let Sofia experience a dramatic moment during the wedding preparations, Billy and Ingrid decide not to reveal their intentions to divorce. At the same time, Billy will have to meet his unexpected son-in-law, Adán (Diego Boneta), who is the son of a Mexican billionaire and has an alternative lifestyle that is not funny at all. A situation that will cause the preparations for the wedding to become anything but a quiet process.

Directed by Gary Alazraki and written by Matt Lopez, 'Father of the Bride' stars Andy Garcia, Gloria Estefan, Adria Arjona, Isabela Merced, Diego Boneta, Chloe Fineman, Pedro Damián, Enrique Murciano, Macarena Achaga, Ana Fabrega and Matt Walsh.
