The film debut of Lukas Dhont with Victor Polster as the protagonist (and winner of the Un Certain Regard for best actor) is called 'Girl' and comes stomping. Adolescence is a hard stage for everyone, but when you belong to an oppressed collective the world becomes an even worse place. Spectators who go to see 'Girl' will find a surprising and sensitive portrait of what it is like to be a trans girl. The struggle for acceptance ends up becoming the day to day of this young woman whose only dream is to become the great dancer she has always dreamed of. The metaphor reads by itself. We hope that in the future trans women films will also have trans women or women as main characters, since not many films manage to talk about this reality without having trans people on the team.
