Guie'dani's Navel

Guie'dani, an indigenous Zapotec girl, and her mother go to work as domestic servants for a wealthy middle-class family in Mexico City. There the gentlemen welcome them into their home, but for Guie?dani it does not seem the most welcoming place in the world.

Of great impact in Mexico, where it has been one of the 'indies' films of the year, and has received various awards and recognitions. According to Mexican media, "the extreme opposite to Rome", Guie'dani's navel is a story about identity, personal growth, classism and racism, and about a person who refuses to fulfill his social destiny, showing that where it seems there is goodness, sometimes there is something else.
