'Hail, Caesar!' trivia and fun facts

The film cast includes four Oscar winners: George Clooney, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Fisher Stevens; and three Oscar nominees: Josh Brolin, Jonah Hill and Ralph Fiennes.

Scarlett Johansson is due to play an actress who suddenly becomes pregnant as her film is about to go into production, which mirrors her real life situation, where she became pregnant a couple of weeks before shooting 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' (2015).

This film will mark Frances McDormand's eighth collaboration with the Coen brothers. Frances is also the wife of Joel Coen.

The first film that cinematographer Roger Deakins has shot for directors Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, and on 35mm film, since 'True Grit' (2010). He had previously become an advocate of shooting digitally, and used Arri Alexa cameras on his next five films, but switched back to film for this because the Coens dislike digital cameras and thought that shooting on film suited a period piece set in 1950's Hollywood.

Film selected to open the Berlin Film Festival in 2016.

The fictional film studio Capitol Pictures that appears in the movie, had already appeared in the film of the Coens brothers 'Barton Fink'.

This film reunites Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton & Fisher Stevens as they previously appeared together in 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' (2014).

Many stars of 1980's appear in the film: Dolph Lundgren, Christopher Lambert and Clancy Brown.
