Haunted Heart

'Isla Perdida (Haunted Heart)' is set in the early 21st century and tells the story of how Álex, after arriving a week later than agreed at a restaurant in Greece, has to take the job of waitress, which is the only one available. A temporary summer job lost in the desert of Greece where she meets a Brazilian named Enrico, with whom she quickly hits it off, but where she also meets the restaurant manager, Max, an American with a hidden and intriguing past whom she quickly falls in love with. Soon, she begins to distrust him upon seeing that he hides more than one secret, and her new friend Enrico will help her uncover it.

This is the nineteenth Spanish film directed by Fernando Trueba, who also contributed to the script along with Rylend Grant (winner of the Ringo Award in Detroit). The film was shot in English and stars American actor Matt Dillon as the mysterious Max, alongside Aida Folch as Álex and Juan Pablo Urrego as Enrico.

This is the third occasion where the filmmaker collaborates with Folch, having previously worked together on 'El embrujo de Shanghái' and 'El artista y la modelo', as well as with Juan Pablo Urrego, with whom he previously worked on the film 'El olvido que seremos'.
