Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Four years have passed since the spell at the end of 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' wiped Peter Parker from everyone's memory, and nobody in New York knows who's behind the mask any more. 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' picks up right there. It's the fourth film with Tom Holland as the web-slinger, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton ('Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings') and released in UK cinemas on 29 July 2026, two days before the US.

Peter's an adult now and lives alone. MJ and Ned have carried on with their lives without remembering him, and he's thrown himself into protecting the city: a full-time Spider-Man who patrols, goes home and heads out on patrol again. The pressure starts to take its toll in an unexpected way, as his body begins a physical evolution that threatens to change everything.

Meanwhile, a strange pattern of crimes points to an enemy who can control their victims' minds. To face it, Peter has to team up, reluctantly, with Jon Bernthal's Punisher and turn to a Bruce Banner who, like everyone else, doesn't remember him either. He's never been this alone, and this time he can't do it all by himself.

Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are back as MJ and Ned, Mark Ruffalo returns as Banner and the cast adds Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas as Detective Jean DeWolff, Tramell Tillman and Michael Mando, who picks up the Mac Gargan he first played in 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote the screenplay once again, and Michael Giacchino did the score. Shooting began in late July 2025 in Glasgow, which was turned into New York for weeks, before moving to Pinewood Studios.

Audiences turned up in huge numbers: around $927 million worldwide on its opening weekend, the second biggest debut ever, and the first Sony film to pass $2 billion. In the US alone it took close to $960 million. Critics were cooler, with an average of 71 out of 100 across the 56 reviews collected on the site.
