Hereditary

After the death of the matriarch of the Graham family, Ellen, passes away, the lineage starts to crumble. After the loss of Ellen, her daughter Annie (Toni Collette) and the rest of the family find themselves threatened by an evil presence and they are increasingly terrified about secrets of their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited, as it slowly destroys everything they know.

Making his feature debut, writer-director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that transforms a familial tragedy into something disquieting, and pushing a horror movie into a new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell. It's produced by A24, responsible of recent successful movies like 'Lady Bird' or 'Ex Machina'.
