Lis dreams of leaving her small village and becoming a recognized circus artist, although she knows that she will not be able to achieve this goal without challenges, since she will have to fight with her parents, who do not share their daughter's vision of her future. For Lis, however, it is a necessary choice: raised in an atmosphere that feels too small for her, she needs to leave and find a place that gives her the lifestyle she needs to grow up and discover who she wants to be. Over the summer, Lis distracts herself by playing in the village with her friends, but she also ends up fooling around with her boyfriend, Néstor, who is a little older than her. Both will be doomed to keep this relationship secret due to the lack of privacy and gossip ability of the neighbors. When the fall arrives, Lis discovers that she is expecting a baby. 'La inocencia' is director Lucía Alemany's first feature film and draws inspiration from her own experiences. Lucía sets the story in her hometown, Traiguera, in Castellón, during the local summer festivities. The film is the main character's story, but also the description of a place, an atmosphere and a time: a personal portrait of a small Valencian village. Following her short film '14 años y un día', Alemany immerses us in this story with professional and amateur actors, where improvisation is the key of the filming. Hide full plot... Show full plot
