'Maquis' is a feature movie that gets back the historical memory of the women from after the Spanish Civil War, exploring a complex context: the insurrection in the mountains. Spain, 1949, While the mountain it's still in a guerrilla warfare, in the valley the women are suffering the repression. Each house has its own conflict that nobody wants to talk about; some of them want to forget and the rest of them want to keep fighting. 'Maquis' is a movie about those women who fought in silence. The movie is directed by Rubén Buren, grand-grandson of Melchor Rodríguez, also known as the "red angel", the last mayor of Madrid from the Republic who saved 11.000 political prisoners from dying. The cast is formed by Zaida Alonso, Paloma Suárez and Fátima Plazas. The cast is only formed by women.
