Plot
George Clooney is Lee Gates, a TV guru expert in finance and Wall Street. When Kyle Budwell (Jack O'Connell) lose all the family money for a bad advice of the show, he decides to kidnap Gates while the show is on air, demanding that all be resolved before the bell. Gates and Fenn (Julia Roberts), the show producer, have to find a way to keep alive and simultaneously uncovering the truth behind a tangle of big money lies. Jodie Foster directs this thriller economical drama starring by George Clooney ('¡Ave César!', 'Tomorrowland'), Julia Roberts ('August', 'Larry Crowne', 'Mirror Mirror'), Jack O'Connell (300: Rise of an Empire', 'Unbroken') Dominic West (Pride) and Giancarlo Expósito ('Solace', 'Breaking Bad'). Julia Roberts' character was originally called Nancy.
For scheduling reasons, Julia Roberts and George Clooney didn't work together a lot in the movie. Furthermore, Roberts shot all of her scenes with green screen on the monitors her character is constantly watching.
