After Margot (Michele La), goes missing, a local investigation is opened and Rosemary Vick (Debra Messing) is the detective assigned to the case. However, thirty-seven hours later and without a single lead, David (John Cho), Margot's father, decides to search where no one has looked yet, there were all secrets are kept nowadays: Margot's laptop. In this modern thriller completely told via technological devices we use every day to communicate, therefore shot from the point-of-view of smartphones and computer screens, David must trace his daughter's digital footprints before her disappearance. Trivia Searching

Like the movie Unfriended (2014), this movie takes places on a muck computer screen. The movie releases almost at the same time as 'Unfriended: Dark Web' and 'Profile', who are also told through computer screens. The first one is about a group of friends facing an online threat and the second one about a journalist who infiltrates propaganda web pages from the Islamic State. This film is Aneesh Chaganty's first movie as director.
