Opus

'Opus' is the film debut of Mark Anthony Green, who wrote and directed this psychological horror thriller. His feature film stars Ariel Ecton, a writer invited to the villa of one of pop's most legendary stars, who mysteriously disappeared into the shadows 30 years earlier. In this residential complex, completely cut off from civilisation, Ariel encounters a cult group of admirers of this music star, as well as some journalists and other writers, who hatch a twisted plan around this gathering. 

'Opus' has an outstanding cast, with Ayo Edebiri as the main character in the story, accompanied by other figures such as John Malkovich, Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Melissa Chambers, Tony Hale, Stephanie Suganami, Mark Sivertsen, Amber Midthunder and Tatanka Means. Edebiri will have to face the strange members of the cult who try to convince her to let go and abandon all her misgivings.

With its frenetic pace, powerful imagery and intriguing and peculiar tone, 'Opus' has received mixed reviews, although most of them have leaned towards the negative. It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and is now coming to streaming platforms such as SkyShowtime and Prime Video.
