This documentary follows the journey of a litter of dogs (Patriot, Phil, Potomac, Poppet and Primrose) in California, from birth and throughout the two years during which they train to become guide dogs. These dogs must learn how to care for a blind person, the ultimate responsibility, and only a few will rise to the prestigious position. A group of dedicated trainers work with the dogs to teach them everything they need to know in order to be a guide dog. Only the best will succeed. We hear testimonies from various blind people who owe their lives to their guide dogs, and whose lives have changed for the better thanks to the 'Guide Dogs for the Blind' organisation. The film is directed by Don Hardy and Dana Nachman, and also written by Dana Nachman.
