Play Dirty

'Play Dirty' is an Australian-American action thriller co-written and directed by Shane Black. It is based on the "Parker" book series by Donald E. Westlake, with a screenplay adapted by Black himself along with Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi. Produced by Team Downey (the production company of Robert Downey Jr.), the film premieres on the streaming platform Prime Video on October 1, 2025, worldwide.

The protagonist, played by Mark Wahlberg, is Parker, a professional thief. In his last job, he is betrayed by Zen, the driver, who kills the rest of Parker's team and takes the loot. Parker discovers that Zen is using that money to prepare for a big heist: to steal a billion-dollar relic that a foreign dignitary is going to showcase at the United Nations.

Parker decides to strike back at Zen and prepares to steal the loot by recruiting a crew of new thieves. Three teams of professional criminals competing for the same loot, with one of them also fighting to avenge their fallen comrades.

In addition to Wahlberg, 'Play Dirty' features LaKeith Stanfield, Rosa Salazar, Keegan-Michael Key, Chukwudi Iwuji, Nat Wodd, and Gretchen Mol. Robert Downey Jr. was originally set to star in the film, and it is even produced by his company, although he was later replaced by Mark Wahlberg. After its release, the film receives mixed reviews.
