Puan

'Puan' is a 2023 film produced by Argentina, Italy, Germany, France and Brazil in 109 minutes, mixing comedy with drama. Directed by María Alché and Benjamín Naishtat, it has a cast headed by Leonardo Sbaraglia, Marcelo Subiotto, Lali Espósito, Julieta Zylberberg, Alejandra Flechner and Andrea Frigerio. The production was carried out by Federico Eibuszyc and Barbara Sarasola-Day. The script, also by Alché and Naishtat, is accompanied by music by Santiago Dolan and editing by Lívia Serpa.

The plot follows Marcelo, played by Marcelo Subiotto, a philosophy professor at the University of Buenos Aires who, after the death of his mentor, hopes to inherit his professorship, but is surprised by the competition of Rafael Sujarchuk, characterized by Leonardo Sbaraglia, who returns from Germany.

The film, awarded at the San Sebastián Festival for its script and Sbaraglia's performance, was also nominated for the Goya. Critics highlight the brilliant performance of the protagonists, the depth of the dialogues and the political portrait it offers, combining humor, emotion and social criticism in a masterful way.

The film has an age rating that is not recommended for children under 12 years of age and managed to gross €69,984.53 in Spain from 10,504 viewers.
