Plot

On a remote island, the beautiful and quiet Hee-Jin is dedicated to rent small floating platforms on a misty lake. These are inhabited by fishermen and individuals who have ended up there running from their past. At night, Hee-Jin has sex with her tenants in exchange for money. One day, a former police come to the island to rent one of the cabins of Hee-Jin. Quickly, the newcomer and Hee-Jin engage in a sinister and unhealthy relationship, in which the most basic instincts and impulses intermingle with troubled emotions.

Directs this psychological thriller South Korean Kim Ki-duk. Released in 2000, 'The Island' (AKA 'Seom') received very good reviews from the critics. The film is an excellent example of mastery and film pulse.
