Song Sung Blue

'Song Sung Blue' is a U.S. musical drama written and directed by Craig Brewer. It is a fictional adaptation of the documentary of the same name by Greg Kohs released in 2008. The film, which also shares its name with the famous song by Neil Diamond, follows the duo formed by Mike and Claire Sardina as the Neil Diamond tribute band "Lighting & Thunder". Starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, the film premieres at the AFI Film Festival before hitting theaters on Christmas Day 2025.

Based on true events, Mike and Claire Sardina are a married couple of musicians from Milwaukee who struggle to make it big. Thus, they decide to form a Neil Diamond tribute band to revive their dreams and find musical success. As they perform Diamond classics like "Sweet Caroline" and "Cherry, Cherry," their popularity begins to soar.

But with success come problems and pressure: creative differences, emotional tension, and financial struggles that will test their marriage. A celebration of love, resilience, and the risks of pursuing one's dreams.

'Song Sung Blue' was filmed in New Jersey and marks the return of Hugh Jackman to musicals after the success of 'The Greatest Showman'. The cast also includes Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, Jim Belushi, and King Princess, among others.
