The Anthropologist

The Anthropologist tells two stories simultaneously about Margaret Mead, whom brought anthropology to the masses in the twentieth century, and Susie Crate, an environmental anthropologist studying the possible implications of climate change. The film weaves together several accounts of the struggle that humanity has had with change, no matter if that change is environmental, societal, or individual. Susie and Katie travel to Siberia, the South Pacific, the Andes, and the Virginia coast of the Chesapeake Bay. As a result of global warming, the communities they visit are forced to rethink how they live and whether it makes sense to move. Directed by Seth Kramer, Daniel A. Miller and Jeremy Newberger.
