Plot
'The Art of Racing In The Rain' is based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Garth Stein. Enzo (voiced by Kevin Costner, 'The Postman', 'Yellowstone') is a golden retriever taken in and raised by Denny Swift (Milo Ventimiglia, 'This Is Us', 'Gilmore Girls'), who names him after a legend in the sport of racing, Enzo Ferrari. Denny himself is set on his goal of achieving success as a race car driver and is especially skilled at driving safely and without compromising technique in harsh conditions, particularly in the rain. Along the way, Denny and Enzo's army of two expands as Denny marries Eve (Amanda Seyfried, 'Mamma Mia!', 'Mean Girls') and the two welcome their daughter, Zoe (Ryan Kiera Armstrong, 'It 2' & Lily Dodsworth-Evans, 'Poldark'), though Enzo cannot stand Eve's wealthy and snobbish parents (Kathy Baker, 'The Ranch', 'Cold Mountain' and Martin Donovan, 'Big little Lies', 'Weeds'). Opening with Enzo as a wizened and elderly dog, 'The Art of Racing In The Rain' follows Denny and his canine companion from puppyhood to old age, through successes and failures, with Enzo's consistent loyalty to his owner proving the age-old saying that dog really is man's best friend. 'The Art of Racing In The Rain' is directed by Simon Curtis ('My Week with Marilyn', 'Cranford').
